Interested in turning your old dimmable lightbulbs into smart bulbs without the crazy expense? Or perhaps you'd like to reduce your energy bills. Maybe you finally want to jump on the bandwagon of home automation and remote access solutions. Then meet Emberlight.

Emberlight is a handy adapter that allows your smartphone to control your lights from anywhere. It's very simple: screw the adaptor into the light socket and then screw any dimmable bulb into the adaptor. Next, download the companion app, configure your WiFi and you're ready to access your home's lights automatically.

So what does the future of lighting look like? You can adjust or dim many lights with a touch. You can turn lights on from a distance before returning home. You can even simulate being home when you're vacationing across the country. Want to turn the light on in a room before you even walk into it? Well Emberlight can do that too by using bluetooth proximity.

This San Francisco-based startup has already exceeded its funding goal on Kickstarter, and should be rolling out their orders around February 2015. For more information visit Emberlight: Turn Any Light Into a Smart Light | Kickstarter.
