Many of us have one - the removable siderail from a crib converted into a toddler bed. It's big and bulky and it would be nice for it serve a another function. Nikki of Salty Pineapple thought the same thing and came up with a great idea.
She used the crib rail as a magazine rack. Just turn it on its side and keep your magazines handy. It's great next to a bed or comfortable chair. For more photos of Nikki's project, check out her blog Salty Pineapple.

I love this!
I hope to see other uses for the side rail. I don't read print magazines anymore and my side rail is just collecting dust.
Maybe a drying rack?
I used it as a drying rack for my kids clothes while I used the toddler bed as a co-sleeper for my very low futon bed.
You can also use it as a quilt storage rack, like a version of this one: http://www.plowhearth.com/Hardwood-Quilt-Rack_p10845_S2010_D3010_C4052.html
I'm always looking for places to store the various blankets and quilts used (and loved) by my kids.
ahhh! brilliant!
The sides of the crib I slept in as a baby have been used for a dog gate, and now a garden trellis... Love that it still has it uses!
Wonderful!
i would suggest using it as a picture book holder, leaning against (and attached to) the wall so it doesn't get pulled over by a little bookworm :)
I am so doing this when I'm done with our crib.
Great way to repurpose!
Yes! Know I know what to do with the one I've been tripping over in the garage! Thx.
This is a great idea! I'm doing it right now!
