This weekend, while we were out shopping for some lighter spring clothes, we saw an interesting sign outside of the Gap. It said, essentially, "bring in any old piece of denim and we'll give you 30% off a new pair of jeans." We figured they were recycling the old denim, but we didn't know how.As it turns out, the Gap has partnered with Cotton Inc. which runs a program that recycles old denim into UltraTouch Natural Cotton Fiber Insulation.
So, between now and March 14, you can drop your old denim off at any participating Gap (as part of their "Cotton. From Blue to Green" program) get that 30% discount and know that your old jeans are going to be turned into insulation that will be used in communities in need.
We're rounding up a few old pairs right now.
