Growing up, our grandma had a small black and white TV in a corner of the kitchen. Since she was always whipping up a dish or a fancy dessert, you could usually find her in the kitchen with the TV on. Since then, a television in the kitchen has always given off a cozy vibe.

While we currently don't have a television set in our kitchen, we wondered how AT readers felt... We've posted about a tube in the bedroom and even in the bathroom but is having one in the kitchen overkill? There are certainly ways to make a TV in the kitchen less conspicuous by purchasing a small flat-screen or plopping it in a corner out of the way. Since most of our friends are now using their laptops to stream shows, you could eliminate the TV in the kitchen altogether. Yet, because the kitchen is typically the hub of the house, it would make sense to have a TV set centrally located (and we definitely think it adds a bit of coziness (a similar feeling to the dryer or washing machine running in the background).
What do our AT readers think? Do you have a TV in the kitchen? Do you consider it cozy, necessary or excess?

My small TV is mounted under my cabinetry, so I can view it from the sink and it rotates so it can be seen at the breakfast bar. I have my eyes on the mount for a new TV (flat screen) but I haven't found the TV yet.

I have a radio and a laptop used to look up recipes. A tv is kinda overkill for me.
tv is too much...
I don't really have a need for _any_ television at all in _any_ room.
I have a computer in my kitchen.
I use it to play news videos or play music as I clean or prepare a meal. It also runs weather, and RSS widgets, so it acts like an information terminal as well.
But a TV just to have Jerry Springer running in the background? No thanks.
Not cozy. I don't even have a tv in my bedroom any more.
I don't find it cozy, but that's not why I put it there. I think it totally works in my space as we can sit at the breakfast bar in the morning, or for watchings sports while I cook. :-)

Notice the white TV in the upper right hand corner.
Yuck - tv in kitchen. One tv should be enough for anyone. And everyone.
