We've featured recycled tire pots and tubs before, but I hadn't seen them used as planters until recently. Now I see them everywhere and I love the idea. I've seen these pots used for succulents, cacti and decorative grasses. I can see why: they are so functional as decorative planters - durable, lightweight and fully recycled, helping to keep tires out of landfill. But, like all synthetics, tires are manufactured with chemicals that are not so good for plants.
I've asked around and the consensus seems to be that for succulents, cacti and other plants that warm to higher temperatures, recycled tire pots are perfect. What do you think?
