A friend of ours just moved into a new apartment and figured out pretty quickly that his roommates have a sense of humor. Instead of trying to hide their giant heater they made it into another member of the family. Introducing Mr. Belvedere:
SO even though most of us strive to hide an ugly heater and some of us do it with alarming elegance you can always go the humorous route and make your own Mr. Belvedere (as the guys call it). He gets a lot of attention, gives most people a good laugh and most importantly doesn't take himself too seriously.

My friends had a huge old wall heater in a dilapidated two bedroom rental guest house that they called "Mamma". They'd negotiate from the warmth of their beds through the thin walls for who was going to brave the cold and go turn Mamma on.

You could also make it a butler and put a coak hook on the wall or put a shelf up and some real cocktail glasses. :-)
