With electric vehicles rising in popularity amongst the Brits, the UK is testing electric recharging lanes for highways.

There's a chicken-and-egg situation with electric vehicles: if there's no infrastructure, people won't buy them, but if people don't buy them, the infrastructure won't get built. As it is, British authorities are planning charging stations at 20-mile intervals along the highways, but the dedicated lane would make it even simpler to charge a Tesla than fill up a gas tank.

And England wouldn't be the first; A section of electric highway already exists in Gumi, South Korea.
