When spaces are tight, under the bed storage is usually a suggestion. But with young kids, how do you keep the floor under the bed from being a cluttered catchall for all things that don't have a place at the end of the day?
House to Home suggests buying or building a bed like this one that includes plenty of space for storage boxes that can be pulled out.
We think if you're going to use under the bed storage, boxes that are specifically assigned for certain items are crucial to keep things in control. The built in cubes under the bed pictured are great because they provide built-in order to the area.
What about you? Do you store things under the bed? Personally, I've never liked the idea of sleeping over "stuff" so I prefer an empty floor under our beds, but I won't deny it's a useful space to have when space is in demand.

On a totally different topic ... I adore the little display next to the bed for all the figures! My daughter is 6 and would love to display her little finds in something like that!
oooh, I LOVE the extra room under beds! I like the aesthetic of clear floors, but that isn't always feasible in small spaces! I love the built in idea!
We use wooden wine crates on wheels under the toddler bed and crib for books. They store nothing else except books which serves two purposes (1) makes it easy for kiddos to know what goes in then (2) easy access for reading when toddler is in bed. It's worked great for us and it is a cheap solution ($3/crate) for much needed book storage
I could not love this more. It also is a great little hiding place for a little one for when they need some ME time. I wish i had something like this! hahaha
brilliant! i think we'll be doing a copy of this when we set up my little boy's room.
I love this bed. Reminds me of the Stratton Bed from Pottery Barn. Does anyone know where the bed is from?
