Friends and family know that red wine and I do not mix. This is so much so that my mother gave me some wine spot remover as a stocking stuffer one Christmas (and I actually needed to use it during Christmas dinner). Kristine Bjaadal has turned my clumsiness from a curse to a blessing with the tablecloth design of Underfull.

Exhibited by Norwegian designer Kristine Bjadaal at the Stockholm Furniture Fair 2010, the tablecloth first seems to be an unassuming white damask tablecloth. Once wet, the tablecloth reveals a hidden pattern of fluttering butterflies. So, instead of feeling embarrassed, the person who caused the spill feels a bit lucky. We love when design doesn't take itself too seriously.

Ercol Bar Stool
What a fun idea I'm so clumsy that I'm always spilling drinks. At least with thsi table cloth I could say it was on purpose to hide me embarassment.
Fun!
Clever! I wonder if the butterflies vanish when the cloth dries again?
This is pretty cool, I'm just afraid of all my guests pouting their wine on my table on purpose.
forget guests pouring their wine on purpose
I would be the crazy purposely pouring the wine showing the guests the butterflies :(
I wonder how tough the clean up is, and if it ever is as white and unassuming as it began, post-spill.
I suspect that this is a one-shot deal and once it's revealed, you keep it in its organic, spilled on state.
