When we are looking for a way to carry our techy kit around, understated is often the best. Timbuk2 has made itself an iconic brand with their line of high quality messenger bags and backpacks aimed at the tech-laden traveler. The Command Messenger follows in the tradition of the classic messenger bag, but with a more sophisticated look outside and features within...

The Command Messenger is the bag we would recommend to the frequent flyer who does not want to look like a bicycle messenger. Laptops are securely stored in a padded sleeve that can be unzipped to lay flat for perfect for TSA screening. Even more thoughtful, the bag has dedicated pockets for power bricks, a wheelie bag handle sleeve, and a roomy interior organizer.

While an astute world traveler, the bag can serve double duty as a standard messenger bag on the back of a cyclist. The all around flexibility offered by the Command Messenger makes it perfect for the discriminating traveler or the college student on the go.

Bottom Line:
The Command Messenger is a solid bag meant for the laptop carrier on the go. Its looks and solid design make it hard not to recommend, the only hang up is the high price.

Pros:

  • Refined looks
  • Ingenious storage solutions
  • Discreet carrying of valuables
  • TSA approved laptop sleeve

Cons:

  • Bit pricey (can be found at good discount online)
  • Thinner nylon than traditional messengers
