Unexpected Color Combo: Red and Yellow

Spain's Olympic team has been getting plenty of attention in London, not for their gold and silver but for their red and yellow. The team's bright, patterned uniforms certainly stand out, and have even garnered some ridicule for being loud and garish. But don't count out red and yellow completely; brave souls have been mixing them for years in their décor.

So how do you use this unorthodox combination without its looking like, say, a McDonalds? Be brave! Play around with tone and saturation to find a mix that works. Both colors have a range of vivid to muted shades that can look beautiful together. You can go bold with brights of both or tone down one and let the other take center stage.
