A short blast from the recent past: UN_FOLD Ninety Days was a global design challenge and exhibition involving nine international designers.
City Magazine sent designers from around the globe this project brief: create a cost-effective, collapsible piece of furniture and ship it to New York inside a large FedEx box within 90 days of receipt. The rules: the budget could not exceed $200, the design must support the weight of a person up to 200 lbs, and instructions must accompany the design in order to assemble it for exhibition. A short video was made of the unpacking, assembling and "testing" of the furniture. It's cute and now it's viewable on You Tube.
