"Eames, Aalto — her most significant relationships were with dead designers."
That's an example of the depressingly funny captions written and partnered up with modernist house photos from past photo shoots from the pages of Dwell Magazine over at Unhappy Hipsters. The Tumblr blog seems to be a bit off on the "hipster" label (in our hood, hipsters rent, not own expensive modernist showcases), but then again, we're not complaining too much when we can enjoy such gems as: "He is sad because his house looks like an elementary school. And all the children have died."

Speaking of boho hipsters (you wouldn't think can afford to own that minimalist modern gem)... Details had a terrific article about the phenomenon.

The word "hipster" has become so fluid and varied in its meaning lately... being affluent does not bar one from being a hipster.
I like Dwell Magazine and I like a lot of the homes it features. I also don't like some of the other homes too.
But it's definitely easy to make fun of. This blog has tapped into what goes through our minds as we flip through the magazine.
Perfect! I could never get into Dwell try as I might, and these captions capture why....
These are SO funny!
"Maybe naming him Rimbaud wasn’t such a good idea."
Hilarious!
"You can come out when you can properly explain the differences between Modernist architecture and postmodern ornamentation."
Good stuff!!!
