Although we're wrapping up cleaning month here on Apartment Therapy, we're secretly dreaming of long vacations away from technology and immersed in wilderness. Although we never pictured our camping experience to look like this, we're pretty sure we'd give this expedition camper from Mercedes-Benz a go!

With a name like Mercedes-Benz we we anticipating a slightly more lush feel to this beast of a tent on wheels. We were expecting the door to be thrown open and there be chandeliers on the ceiling, a hot tub in the corner and crystal on the table. This wasn't the case and we quickly learned that this truck... means business.

The inside is fairly straight forward and resembles many a pop-up trailer we've slept in previously. It has a table that stows down for more sleeping space on top of it, a closet behind the passenger seat and a wall that divides off the cabin from the living quarters with a pass through, lockable door.

What this aubergine vehicle lacks in over-the-top style, it makes up in necessities. This bad boy has a false floor, which beneath it has 300 liters of fresh water, along with a 200 liter waste tank. It also has a module bathroom which is fitted with a toilet, sink and shower. Hot water is provided by a combined gas/electric boiler with a capacity of 10 liters. Not a lot, but enough to get the stink off you after a long day of backpacking. There's also a small corner kitchen on board, with a sink, stove and two-burner gas stove.

Is this your idea of camping? Or would you rather sleep in a bag under the stars?
