Apartment Therapy's children's site, Ohdeedoh, was the second subject site we ever launched, just after the Kitchn, and it's always felt like a very natural fit. (Fun fact: Ohdeedoh is also my daughter Ursula's favorite word.) Many of our readers are parents, or they become parents at some point, and they want to see how real people have made their homes livable but — and this part is key — still stylish places for children.
The site has had a strong and constant following since its launch, and I'm happy to report that it keeps growing steadily. We've been really fortunate to have many of the same writers who have been with us from the start. This year we promoted one of our writers to Managing Editor — Carrie McBride, who has been with the site from the beginning.
I asked Carrie to share some of her favorite posts from Ohdeedoh with me, and she pulled together this great roundup of unique childrens' rooms, many of them packed with good ideas even if you don't have kids. Enjoy!

>> Playroom Closet - A great before and after showing how something as simple as a closet can become a child's favorite space.

>> Boys Circus Inspired Bedroom - An amazing room with ferris wheel toy storage!

>> Ruby's Playhouse - Clare Crespo, author of The Secret Life of Food, has a fabulous playhouse for her daughter.

>> Built-In Indoor Playhouse - A smart way to make use of extra space next to the stairs.

>> Building Plans for StudioMama's Kids House - One of the more modern playhouses I've seen.

>> Borgen (Castle) by VeraVera - A ready-to-assemble castle for kids.

>> Uroko House - Incredible book storage with a built-in sleeping nook.

>> Nursery Number Two - A recession-friendly nursery makeover.

>> Inspiration: Indoor Treehouse - A treehouse for city-dwellers without yards.

>> Look! A Woodland Nursery - A super-detailed bedroom for a little girl.

this post does not disappoint! it really is inspiring, even for those of us without little urchins!
Looking at the first two, all I can think of is, "Somebody's gonna get hurt."
I love the sense of excitement and adventure inherent in some of these design. I think its really important to stimulate their sense of imagination and possibilities instead of trying to put a cap on things.
Here's my contribution; how about a tree house for your children's closet?
