Lit signs are fun alternatives to traditional wall sconses and lamps. They look just as fantastic sitting on a ledge, shelf or table as they do hanging on the wall. Unexpected and bright, these signs will illuminate your space and make you smile at the same time.
Lit signs commonly come in two types: neon and bulb. One exception is the night light in Photo 3. It's LED combined with clear etched acrylic.

Shaw's Original Fir...
How are these affordable as home decor?
The Darth Vader night light is a lot smaller than the others, but as a DIY project it would not be hard to duplicate with some poster board, some led rope lights, and some craft paint.
Well, a shop near me was once selling actual marquee letters from an old theater...at $1,000 each.
I have a neon light shaped like a cat....its been sitting in my office on top of a file cabinet because I don't know what to do with it. A lot of these types of illuminated letters and neon look cool, but I seriously do not know how to incorporate it into my decorating scheme. Perhaps that could be a good post for AT in the future!
You can make your own for much less: http://ruffledblog.com/diy-carnival-marquee-letters/
You could also search Craigslist for things like "Neon sign." Mine turned up a $50 working neon "Open" sign.
Affordable? Not for me..
Agreed these are still pretty expensive for us single incomers. However, I have seen them for far more. What I really want is someone to make a marquee style neon lights in miniature for a night light. I think that would be an awesome night light. Someone more creative than me get on that and I will buy it from you.
LMCummings.... Look at the site behind #3, he will do just that for you!! And that price looks super reasonable to me. I think it would make a great gift for a couple of my nephews. I just need to figure out what the shape/design should be.
Hello Vader!
