While I was trolling the internet last night looking for a storage solution for my own home, I happened upon this idea from the folks at Better Homes and Gardens. Which, for future reference, isn't the first place I head for storage ideas, but this one's a winner!
These small metal wall planters have been used to hold stuffed animals and store other small items at kid height. This trick is a good one as this time of year many stores are trying to clear out their summer goods as they bring in their holiday and winter products. Although most big box retailers have probably discontinued this sort of thing, online searches might reveal great clearance prices (unless you live somewhere more sunny than I do). Likewise, these are something to keep an eye out for at garage sales or even on Craigslist.
We love that this idea from Better Homes and Gardens allows your kids to see which animal is hiding where without the dreaded pet net hanging in the corner. Plus, due to their size, it helps keep the collection contained and paired down. Do you love the look? Or think it feels awkward? Let us know in the comments below!

White Enamel Four-P...
For stuffed animals, this is great! They are the HARDEST things to store!
Saw this a while ago, I love this idea. Thinking of doing it for books next to my son's bed.
I saw this over the summer and tried to find those wire baskets, but could not buy them anywhere! Any suggestions about where to find them?
bethv - They usually hold moss and then dirt and flowers inside. Check specifically with garden centers if you're having trouble finding them in your area.
A certain orange home improvement store has them. You can sometimes find them at goodwill also. I would love to put these up for soft toys...but I'd have to paint them a wild color first.
Love it! Especially for plush "friends" who are currently stuffed back into a toy bin every day. I think if they were visible like this maybe, just maybe, she wouldn't have to pull them all out every day. :)
I don't like it for books or other things that might get injured by the round shape and the wire, but love it for stuffed animals!
Bethv: also try looking in the farm and garden section of Craigslist. I have one of these that I got as a gift basket that I now have in my bathroom holding rolled-up wash cloths.
