We love green energy here at Unplggd, almost as much as we love upcycling. Lowering our energy bills and finding new uses for old things are always something we're interested in. Sadly many of the green energy solutions we love come with a hefty price tag which is why we were stoked when we saw this project on Instructables that is as green as it is thrifty.
Wanting to make good use of old computer equipment that was gathering dust, Instructables user Reukpower decided to create a wind turbine out of an old PC fan.
Aside from the basic soldering skills that are required, this project is relatively simple. To make this wind turbine, in addition to the old PC fan, you'll also need a few other old items like a thick plastic bottle (an old shampoo bottle works well) and an old CD.
While this project is not going to be able to power your home, we still think that it's a great start and a neat way to use items that would have just been disposed of.
What are your suggestions for how to improve on this project?
