The idea of giving books to charity shops and thrift stores is a wonderful one. But what happens to the books that aren't sold? Sadly, they go to landfills. Even worse, the shops have to pay for them to go there. And that doesn't even include the up to 50% of new books that are returned to the publishers and later disposed of. Lucy Norman has found one solution to putting those unwanted paperbacks to good use.
Through her studio, Lula Dot, Lucy has designed this partition out of used paperbacks, providing privacy and both heat and sound insulation. You could have some fun with the spines...going for a monochromatic or arrange them by color. Personally, I like the minimalism of the page end of the books.
