We've seen many examples lately of dressers getting dressed up using negative space to create playful images. This bird in a tree dresser is no exception. We love that the texture of the tree is actually real wood. What's different about this particular project, though, is how this look was achieved without busting out a single paintbrush.
The folks at Gypsy Barn found this mahogany dresser with a bad case of paint-chip-itis and decided to take it even further. They kept chipping. And chipping. Until they created the image. Nicely done.

how cute and clever!
i kind of love this.
I love this, too. It's a refreshing take on the "strip it and paint it white" trend.
Oh, that sounds so much easier!
I agree it's really cute. BUT, how old is that paint? It could easily be lead-based. No way I would put a piece of furniture covered in chipping, suspect paint in my child's room.
wow, they did an amazing job!
