Ideas to Update Mid Century Kitchen without Major Renovations?

Good Questions

Q: I recently purchased a great mid-century home. It needs considerable updating (I love a good project) but I am really stuck as to what to do with the kitchen. It is a small space, but there is quite a bit of light from the large-ish window. I do not have the time or energy to do the counters, cabinets, or floors right now, and would like to keep the natural marble backsplash. The counters are the original off-white with gold flecks. Does anyone have any good ideas for how to update with just paint that would match the floors, countertops and backsplash?
