Update Now: Chrome 13 Enables Instant Pages

Google's latest stable iteration of Chrome, lucky #13, has been tuned for speed. Specifically, Chrome uses predictive pre-rendering, which they call Instant Pages. In other words, the browser begins loading elements of a page it predicts you'll click, as shown with a couple of search examples in the video above...

When activated, Chrome will jump ahead of your mouse clicks and preload the most likely link you'll navigate to and load it instantaneously, with images and style sheets all ready to go once you commit to that click. And if you don't want this feature on, you can always just turn it off via preferences. Update to this latest version manually using "About Google Chrome" and press "Update Now".
