Jacqueline and George Schmidt are DIY extraordinaires. Their amazing home is featured in the February/March issue of ReadyMade magazine, which is chock full of amazing ideas you'll want to steal. Having the pleasure of touring the Schmidt's home, we give you one of their amazing ideas you can easily do at home.

Jacqueline and George hated the black "faux leather" sides of their fridge. What made it worse is that the tarred Rhino look faced out towards the rest of the house, so they just had to do something about it.

Here's what George did:

  1. Had a friend cut a piece of masonite to size
  2. Painted it with chalkboard paint
  3. Screwed it into the side of the fridge with standard sheet metal screws

Now they have a chalkboard at their disposal for writing sweet nothings to inspire them to get creative for their screen paper goods company Screech Owl Design.
