If you are tired of the jagged looking image you are getting from your Skype calls or other Video Conferencing, maybe it's time to upgrade. Of course, you won't be able to enjoy the advantage of a greater image, if the other party on your call doesn't upgrade to, or if your internet connection is sub-par. Let's see what's new, shinny and affordable on the market today for these HD Web Cams.
Creative Live! Cam
This is the smallest and lightest around. Ideal for portability. Too bad the clip doesn't adjust and the head doesn't swivel right or left. Image quality is great in both poor and good lighting conditions. We love the noise canceling microphone that does and excellent job reducing background noise and the software bundle that let you add powerpoint slides to your video stream.
Logitech HD Webcam C510
We love that you can fold this little sucker up into a tiny package. It even comes with a carrying case. it mounts super easy to any monitor bezel and it moves up, down, left and right for easy frame adjustment. It does a great job reducing ambient noise and it has great video performance, even in low light conditions.
Microsoft LifeCam Studio
We really like the cylindrical shape of the camera, maybe because it remained us of the now dead iSight. The omnidirectional microphone does a great job picking up conversations, without dragging background noise into the mix. The threading base for an tripod is an added bonus. Video quality is very good and the autofocus works great even in low light.
