I've been living in Dallas for just under a year now and I'm thrilled to have found a co-op style produce program in the North Texas area. It's convenient, no-hassle and completely eliminates trips to the grocery store for fruits and vegetables. Urban Acres is the only program in North Texas I have found that guarantees fresh, local, in-season produce. You can choose between a "half-share" for 15lbs of produce or a "full share" for 30lbs. The pricing is very reasonable, much less than the market shopping I do on my own. This is a great alternative for those who don't have the time to research what fruits and vegetables are in-season, plan out a shopping list and find local produce to buy. For complete information on how to get involved with the Urban Acres family, head on over to their website.
