We promise that we'll be done with upholstery after this post, but since we're all curious about taking classes and making great transformations on our own, we thought this yardage cheat sheet was super handy. You'll be able to shop with confidence and buy pieces you can afford to transform or know how much fabric to pick up if you stumble upon a sale!

You can find the full size version of this cheat sheet and more over at Little Green Notebook. We think they'd be great to keep in your purse, pocket or glove box when you set out to find a sad piece of furniture to reupholster.

If you plan to use a patterned fabric, the number will increase as you'll need to match edges and so forth, but this is a great starting point. So if you ever find yourself in a pile of sale fabrics, you'll know how much to bring home for a project later on! Often times we just pick up enough for a pillow here or there, not really knowing how many yards we'll truly need later on. Now there's no more guess work and we can shop with ease.

Thanks for bearing with us as we dove into the world of upholstery a bit more heavily than usual, but it's one of those arts that feels like you should be able to do it yourself and still feels super mysterious at the same time. We hope some of our suggestions this week have helped!
