If you're able to see past this adorable baby, Oscar, you'll see what a clever photo prop his mother, Lindsay, has devised.
A frame and chalkboard paint - so simple and so versatile. Here, Oscar is playing cupid for Valentine's Day. Imagine antlers for Christmas, big bunny ears for Easter, butterflies for spring...you get the idea. Lindsay also used the frame for a 1/2 birthday photo.
Thanks Lindsay! Readers, you can find Lindsay blogging about renovating her Toronto home here and also at Penny People Designs (which we wrote about here) where she makes custom stationery and art prints.

Cute idea. Thanks for sharing. :)
so sweet - I can just picture baby with a thought bubble above his/her head :)
Oscar is smiling at the computer monitor, staring at a photo of himself. ;) Thanks for the sweet write up! xo Lindsay
so cute! I want to do this or at least SOMETHING with chalkboard. What material do you paint to put in the frame? Can you just paint a piece of cardboard or do you need something firmer?
@kk415 We used plywood in the frame. We had it cut to the exact size at our local Home Depot. I don't recommedn cardboard. Something firmer. :)
Such a creative idea! I love it!
good idea!
@kk415.. we used masonite board from Home Depot. Super light and cheap...and can easily be cut to any size (or shape with the right saw). Also, you can paint directly to a door or wall.
Thank you!!
