Encouraging your children to do art starts with having the right materials - crayons, markers, paints and brushes, and quality paper are the standards. But it's nice to give kids a different medium to try out.
Don't overlook the everyday Post-It note. A few stacks of these in different colors and a blank wall is all your kids will need. Have them try to recreate a picture or let them create whatever they want. Snap a photo of their Post-It art when finished so they have a keepsake. Another benefit to using Post-Its? They can be re-used for another day. For another photo of this Post-It art, go to The Improvised Life. Certainly not a new idea, but a fun one indeed.
