Our childrens' spaces workhouse, the IKEA Expedit, really can do it all. If you're lacking a closet in the baby's room, use the Expedit as a closet for your baby's clothes.
We spotted this alternative use of the Expedit as a mini closet. It's just a simple 2x2 Expedit unit without the inner shelves but with the addition of a closet rod. The 2x2 sits on a 2x8 Expedit, which saves on floor space. Check out IKEA Hackers for a detailed shot of this closet.

Now, this is just brilliant.
This is brilliant! Also, it reminds me of what Kara Paslay did for her client Ida Red.
I LOVE these (Expedit) shelving units! We have one in our son's room, that I've turned on it's side, and use the the top for the changing pad, and the cubby's all have different purposes (diapers, trash can for dirty ones, blankets, etc...) They are so versatile, and unlike "baby furniture" will grow with him into teenage years..
the post starts: "Our childrens' spaces workhouse"
did you mean "workhorse"? cuz the Expedit certainly is a workhorse, but i'm not sure it's a workhouse.
i love how the 2x2 without the inner shelves is the perfect height inside for a hanger bar and baby clothes! awesome!
Okay that's going to last about 6 months.
Those must be some tall parents!
Oh wow, I just noticed this was re-posted here! That's my closet! @sarahrebel, we're at the 5 month mark and still going strong. However, he's a long baby so it may not be much longer until we're sharing our own closet space. And @Muwach, I'm 5'5" and daddy's 6'3". Between my tiptoes and the angle of the hanger, lol, I make it work.
