SoftBox Pro for iPad

• $0.99
iTunes Store

As any photographer knows, lighting is everything when it comes to capturing a fine image. But not everyone has pro lighting equipment around. Although the SoftBox Pro for iPad is in no way a true replacement for a pro studio lighting setup, this 99 cents app used in conjunction with sheets of paper or a mirror can be a decent illumination tool. There's even the option to add patterns/shapes for stylized reflections in your model's eyes (watch the video below to see an example of this in action). 15 different soft box shapes, 15 grids and patterns with brightness adjustment…the app can make for some interesting effects used as a soft box or lightbox underneath, especially when illuminating smaller objects, as shown on their Flickr group page.
