GPS can be especially helpful when navigating unfamiliar territory. What's better is when you can use GPS-enabled devices you already own rather than buying a separate piece of equipment solely for navigation. It was with this in mind that we took the 3G iPad's GPS navigation capabilities out for a spin.
We used Motion X GPS HD and the built-in maps application powered by Google on our 3G iPad. We found that both apps worked well and we loved the compass that came with MotionX. For the price, $2.99, MotionX really is well worth it, and the directions and stats that were provided by the app were clear and quite good.
With great GPS apps harnessing the power of the 3G iPad and apps providing live traffic coverage, we really cannot think of a better device to bring along on any road trip. Using our iPad in the car though, we could not help but wonder what awesome hacks people have already come up with for on dash mounting of the iPad. Any of you guys see any good car/iPad hacks?
