Artist Rafael Lozano-Hemmer has 24 strong searchlights trained on Philadelphia, which you can control. "Open Air" runs from September 20 to October 14, and allows anyone who downloads the app to control the brightness and position of the beams with their voice. The beams will be seen up to 10 miles away from the project's base at Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

In other news, holograms are on display at MIT, and robots are learning interior design. See the headlines after the jump.
