Remember our post about using different wall treatment to divide a room? The idea was to create separate space without actually putting up a physical divider. Or you could just go with a physical divider.
We spotted this unique shared room on IKEA Family Live blog. Sharing a room with a sibling, especially where the age gap is larger, can result in some friction. Even if a separate bedroom isn't possible, baby gates used to cordon off space within a room can help with privacy issues. So just because your kids are older, don't go throwing away those baby gates yet.

That's kind of silly.
Unless that gate is bolted to the floor those kids could knock it over in one solid wrestling match.
They don't provide any privacy anyway.
I don't know what I'd do instead, as our 4 boys share 2 rooms that aren't big enough to have any kind of divider anyway.
Maybe a curtain on a hospital style track? Drop the curtain so that it's a good 12-18" from the ceiling and light can still get through.
Doesn't help with sound at all, but would visually divide at least.
It works as sort of a visual divide, but doesn't help with those "he's touching my stuff!" issues. haha! I do like that it "divides" the room, but it doesn't make the overall space feel closed in, like a bookcase or curtain divider might.
I have this exact gate (to keep our dogs in the kitchen and our children OUT of the kitchen). It attaches to the walls, so they can't knock it down (unless they are stronger than my children..or my dogs). It does its job, but Everyone trips over the bar at the bottom, without fail.
I don't know about using it as a room divider just for kicks..
I think this could be a really nice solution for keeping a baby or toddler out of their older sibling's stuff. That way an older kid could have LEGO, etc, as long as they didn't let the baby through the gate.
For the boys in the picture, seems kind of silly.
