We've had visual reminders of resolutions on our mind since we saw the post The New New Year's Resolution: A DIY 2012 Manifesto last week. Then, while visiting a friend's home the other day, we remarked at some lovely glass containers she had on a shelf, and wondered if she collected them since they were all empty. She said she did, sort of, but not because she just thought they were pretty. She liked keeping empty containers around to remind her to be open and welcoming -- to make sure she has room for good things to come into her life.
What an interesting concept, including home decor that symbolizes a certain attitude or mindset you want to focus on in your life. Considering it's the beginning of the year, there's still time to incoporate visual reminders of the things you'd like to change about yourself or your life this year. While you're working on resolutions (which may even include resolving to loving your home more), perhaps you'll find a physical home element to incorporate that means something to you and represents something you've been wanting to change or add to your life. We'd love to hear what that might be to you.
And we collected ten lovely glass containers to add to your home in case you want to have plenty of symbolism of being open (or just need some pretty, shiny things for a shelf or table top):
1) French Glass Arcoroc Container in Emerald Green $21.50
2) Recycled glass vases $12
3) Vintage Green Glass Bottle $45
4) Recycled Glass Candleholders $3.98 to $14.99
5) Vintage Bottles set of four $65
