I am in awe of people who can look at the humblest of objects and turn them into a beautiful, functional piece. Design Sponge featured this ottoman DIY built around a generic hardware store utility bucket.

If you own a sewing machine and have basic sewing skills, this would be an easy project to take on. Using spray glue to affix foam padding to the bucket, they created a foundation for the ottoman. Next, they sewed fabric to fit over the padding and finished it off with piping.
