Sometimes all it takes to break out of the doldrums of everyday life is to, well, break out and do something different, something fun! Well, when we saw this picture we knew we wanted to make some garlands and (maybe) have a party:
It reminded us of the time that we hung up streamers at our apartment for a friend's surprise party and then left the crepe paper up for months because it just felt so fun to walk into a decorated room. We've always been big on hostessing, but sometimes planning a whole thing is just too much, but throwing up some great decorations might just get the party started. We imagine a couple of friends, some cupcakes and an afternoon of leisure (and then weeks of getting to enjoy the garlands, sans party).
These garlands can be made easily (and reused!) because they're made from fabric scraps. See the directions for how to make them on the Purl Bee Journal.
