Color Inspiration: I love color. All colors, from deep and saturated, to pale, washed, and faded. Color excites me. Color makes me want to look at something for hours and hours. Color defines me.

Modern Creole
Colors Used: Color Place Late Tomato mixed in a Kilz base. Color Place Vintage Aqua mixed in a Kilz base. Color Place Buffalo mixed in a Kilz Base
Color Tip: Wrap the room in one color. Paint the walls, ceiling, and wood work all the same color and same finish. I always use flat paint for everything. Flaws recede, and sight lines go on forever.

LOVE the Tomato room! :-)
This is honestly some of the best use of color I've seen in a long time. Bravo!
I'm insanely in love with this entry, but it's not all one room, is it?
Bold and beautiful!
Um, did some of the photos just change (and a comment disappear)??
rosenatti and stardust - slideshow has been fixed - it initially was uploaded incorrectly. thanks for the heads up!
Yes.
I like the color, but I'm a little confused. What happens in this room?
Absolutely my favorite entry by far!
this 'double shotgun home' cracks me up! excuse me, but are those shades your skeleton is sporting?... i can just imagine having dinner here!

The colors you've selected are gorgeous, I just feel there's too much going on here. It would a hard room to stay in for any length of time without becoming overwhelmed. As a painting, though, I'd love it. Reminds me of Matisse. Thumbs up.
REALLY love the colors and the desk/table etc.! But the skeleton hangings kinda creep me out.... :( Other than that, this room is perfect!
The love continues. I'm drooling just as much now that the slideshow's fixed.
Ok. I think I love it.
But I would be scared to death if I got drunk and woke up there.
Oh yes.
Thanks y'all!

To answer a few questions: The room is an office, and one skeleton is wearing a Mardi Gras mask. xo xo
Love it!
This is "Carnaval Eccentric"? Either way it works, it's fun and stimulating :)
Louisiana represent!
Love the colors! Passionate--just as you are, Valerie! Good Luck~
You have to be here to believe it and also to experience what's like to be surrounded by the energy of the colors radiating from every corner.

Rich and saturated, electric and quirky! Sound like anyone we love to read? Love this space! GLAMaureen
Love it. Love it. Love it.
J'adore Madame Hart! Having worked with you in the past on numerous projects I have always appreciated your colour sensibility. And of course anybody who uses red in any decor gets bonus points!
good luck.

this room gives me giant cooties. the good kind. i'm not usually a fan of red rooms, but i just love the way everything is just packed in there. there is so much to look at, yet it's not chaotic. sort of how listening to a song with piano makes you feel full and rich.... this room does the same for me. yay!
gorgeous!
too cool for school!
I can see getting my palm read here, but office? I would not get any work done! The idea of putting the same color on trim, walls and ceiling is odd to me - feels like a cluttered box. Guess I'm old school.
It's incredibly clever, but confusing in a good kinda way.
I keep coming back to look some more at this home that expresses such exuberance and attention to detail. I'll bet you give a great Halloween party, and great parties in general.
Love that shade of red!

Valorie,
I did vote. The room is awsome. The colors, everything. I wish I could do these things. My idea of decorating is cleaning the kitchen. Let me know when you're coming to Phx and I'll will do something to the house ahead of time. I'll clean the kitchen AND the bathroom. You are the most creative awsome relative I have. You're like Marta Stewart without the boredom. I love you! Great job!!!
I love the burst of colours here. Thumbs up.
It's never too hot where color and Valorie are concerned.
So great to see a room with Life!
Love it! Love it! Love it!

OMG. LOVE it! New Orleans chic.
House tour please! These pics are just whetting our appetite!
Valorie's artistry is unmistakable--her eye for bold color and unique details make her rooms stand out from most of the others in this competition. They convey a welcoming warmth, imagination and a even the occasional touch of humor. She is a true original.
Great colors!!!
Excellent use of color! When can I move in?? Love it
Valorie has the best eye for her Creole colors. She is the best candidate!

You were robbed! This should have won. I guess it's true that design should never be done by committee.
