Montreal has very harsh, long winters, so we truly appreciate our time outdoors when the weather gets warmer. My balcony is my refuge. I do everything out there — dining alfresco, reading, writing, gardening, sun tanning — it's my relaxing escape within the busy city.
My balcony faces Montreal's Mount Royal, so I'm blessed with a very green view. I tried to maximize my use of space this summer by using an IKEA bench and table in the far corner…which leaves me plenty of space for gardening.
