Dream Spaces: Attics & Vaulted Ceilings

Dream Spaces: Attics & Vaulted Ceilings

I live in the attic of an old home in Chicago and the 25 foot vaulted ceilings bring in more light than any other apartment I've ever had. I've had dreams of living in an attic since I was a little girl — I've always thought of them as such magical places! Why did I love attic spaces so much as a child? I think it was all of the nooks and irregular spaces that vaulted ceilings often create. I could imagine myself pinning posters and drawings on the sloped ceiling. Luckily today I get to live in my dream space and unlike a lot of attics, mine happily features an open floor plan which allows it to feel incredibly spacious.
