I've been a fan of the designs coming out of Austin design firm Laura Britt Design for awhile now. Laura and her team create colorful, inspiring and well, exciting spaces that I enjoy drooling over (and sometimes even finding ideas from). So I was pretty delighted to find out that Laura Britt and her designers have created their own line of sustainable furniture.
Vervano was started due to a need that Laura Britt noticed in her practice: that there just wasn't the level of sustainable, high-quality and modern furniture style she was looking for to use in her projects. Vervano is an eco-conscious furnishings line featuring sustainably sourced wood, mortise and tenon joinery, low VOC finishes, plant-based foam and even uses a Central Texas fabricator.
I love all the eco-friendly elements to the Vervano line, but I'm also really enjoying how the line is a great mixture of traditional and modern details. The Clayton Chair is a perfect example with the angles of the arms and the great walnut wood finish. Check out more information on the Vervano website.
Have you invested in a furniture piece recently? What was it, and why did you decide to go the high-quality versus cheap deal route?

How much is "a little bit more"? There are no prices in the post or on the website...
Love those chairs -- very elegant.
It all looks a little west elmy and olde fashioned.
Now that I am in my mid-30's I feel the same way. We spent a lot of time (and money) decorating and redecorating to keep up with the latest styles through our 20's. I have come to the conclusion that the more 'in style' it is today the more 'out of style' it will be tomorrow.
For me the sensible alternative is to do as the author suggests. Buy things I love that are good quality, screw 'style' from design mags and have _my home_ reflect _my personality_.
Who am I impressing anyway? I am the one that lives there.
Have you seen how amazing Vervano pieces look used in settings? What a fabulous line!
