This summer, I had the pleasure of touring the Provincetown Home of painter John Dowd, pictured here from a 2006 spread in Elle Décor. The unruffled interior of his carefully restored 19th Century Cape Cod cottage is filled with subtle and tasteful details that include local art, hand-sourced antiques and Victorian-era fixtures and appliances abound. While the impeccable seaside home is a true labor of love that would be nearly impossible to recreate, I wanted to share some good go-to sources for shopping John’s comfortably rustic look.
