Shaw's Original Fir...
And now I know what my favorite thing is...a man with a nice accent talking about records :)
Get out of my head, Laura!
This brings back so many memories from my teen years, holed up in my room for hours listening to records. Somehow I doubt it'll feel the quite the same for my daughter and her iPod or whatever the music gadget du jour will be when she hits her teens.
Great start to what I think will be a great feature. I like the look he gives at 00:34 when he tells you that you can tell where the songs begin.
LaurAkins: I smiled through out his entire presentation and yup, it was the accent but I love the passion he has for the record player. What memories of the disco era.
I want to know more about that record player!
I love my record player, too! When I play one of my very scratched up records, I imagine that the cracks and pops are coming from a [non-existent] fireplace in the corner and the whole room feels cozy. I can see how this new series will give us a glimpse into what makes a space a home for others. Grazie, Vincenzo!
In the sixties on some TV show there was a person who could tell how many minutes long songs were by looking at the width of the bands on a record. Exciting stuff.
Jensen was a top of the line brand in the day.I hadnt thought about what it was like to own albums since cassettes became big!
Love this. Makes me want to hear more...
This makes me smile! What a great concept! He seems really sweet and he really made me want to go buy some records!
