We've been blogging sleeper sofas as we wrap up Bedroom month - we covered air-mattress models yesterday and Maxwell just did a round up today, but one area we hadn't thought much about were vintage sleepers.Would you believe this slim and trim sofa folds out? Photos of the genius design mechanics below...

It is up for auction on eBay right now - with a few hours left, the current bid is $1850.

So you'd still have to supply a mattress?
I suppose you could fold up an air mattress in the hollow back for it.
Don't do it!!! My mother-in-law used to have this exact sofa (or at least a VERY similar one). It was unbelievably uncomfortable. The technology for comfy beds wasn't very advanced at that time. Only use these for someone you really don't want to have stay long.
Although... maybe if you had a really thick air mattress it would be okay. But then, why not just use the floor?
OMG it's beautiful! I would roll up a thin futon or similar and keep it in the back.
While it is beautiful, I don't think it looks very comfortable as a sofa OR sleeper...
and that price-ugh! You can sometimes find vintage danish sleepers on NYC craigslist for about $600... and once a woman on freecycle had one to give away!
I just spotted this sleeper on Urban Outfitters. While the quality may be if-y, it looks cute, looks moderately comfortable, it's new(!), and very inexpensive!
