Not just for kids' rooms, paired twin beds can make for a versatile guest bedroom. We love the sight of two matching "twins" side-by-side: there's something nostalgic and sweet about it. Take a look at more paired twin bed inspiration after the jump...

Love that first picture, those headboards are beautiful!!!
and I want that little lamp.
This is a perfect example of form trumping function. Sure they look nice, but how would you like to sleep in one of those little things? Gimme an adult-sized bed please!
I've always liked twin beds - I keep telling my fiance we should implement this strategy in our bedroom, I Love Lucy style - simply because we both toss and turn if forced to sleep next to someone (plus I like how it looks - symmetry, yum!) Then again - it would be a little odd. Oh well, I'm an odd bird to begin with.
I have two twin in my guest room and they are perfect to slide together when my sister and her husband are here, or my other sister and my mom, who can separate them. One caveat- It's nearly impossible to find cute bedding (not solid colors) in decent thread counts (300 ) for twin beds. And duvets do not exist. Granted its a guest room so you don't wanna spend that much money, but the only options really run in the teen / kid category.
Miss Jess- I hear you on the tossing and turning. I think the solution is a nice king-sized bed though, with a mattress that has individual coils. Dare to dream!
added bonus...you are making it harder for couples to have sex in your house when staying over. >_> keep it clean people!
love the look in the picture, but I think it would be odd in person, unless you had very frequent guests staying with you. but please, if anyone does this, make sure they're extra long twins!
teeze: I don't know where you're looking, but there are plenty of twin sized duvets (pottery barn, for example, has lots of patterned twin duvets)! and you can always dress up a solid color with patterned shams and throws. honsetly, I think solid colors would look better, (note all of the above pictures), as even the most sophisticated pattern would look more juvenille in a cute little pair.

When I travel w/ my best friend aboard ship, we share a stateroom and have the beds split into twins - and I find it perfectly comfortable.
I love the idea of having a guest room with twin, twin beds. It's great for friends who are comfortable enough with each other to share a room, but would prefer to have their own sleeping space. And couples won't perish from a night spent a few feet apart.
I wish I could do this in my guest room, but with doors on 3 walls (two of which swing inward) I sadly can't make it work.
Oh yeah, nostalgic. A'la Pleasantville.
As the oldest child and only daughter, my (once nonexistant)sex life has come under greater scrutiny than those of my younger brothers. When I came home one holiday to find that my brother and his babymomma were given a full bed while my husband and I were on a pair of twins, I about lost it.
Anyway, it's not like we're going to do it in my parents' house. Because I know you can hear it from my parents' room. Because I can hear them doing it from my room.
Twins pushed together for a king size solution for a couple are (in my experience) massively uncomfortable. Just so you know.
And although a couple might not "perish" from sleeping in separate beds, most couples I know won't do it -- it's bad enough sleeping in unfamiliar beds, let alone apart.
If you have more than one guest room, twin beds in the second one might be cute and useful for visiting children, but a full or queen is a better option if most of your guests are single or couple of adults.
