Reading last week's post about the octopus earring stand served as a reminder that we have way too many pieces of jewelry to find something so small very useful. Whether you're trying to store cufflinks, brooches, necklaces or the obligatory ring, we thought we'd share our vintage storage solution.
The creamy Buxton box is a classic, with earring and small jewelry storage above and two grooved drawers below. Right now, we have one compartment for brooches, one for vintage necklaces, one for modern necklaces and drawers for bracelets and watches (also separated by new and old).
If you're looking for your own vintage jewelry box, we'd suggest heading to eBay and looking up both Buxton and Mele versions. Here are just a few that we like:

Where did you find that green (glass?) lamp at? It's beautiful! I've been looking for something similar for my apartment..
It was actually on sale at Target. The lamp came in both green and dark purple, but it's no longer available. There is this one, however:

I love my vintage jewelry box! I love it even more because I snagged it at Goodwill for $5!
My grandmother gifted me that exact same cream Buxton box (full of great stuff, love you grandma) and it does an amazing job! You would be surprised how much fits in there, and now organized it keeps things. I've moved cross country twice, and I just tape it up gently and all my trinkets stay organized and go.
