When I was a kid, I had my silhouette done for reals: I sat very still as an artist stared at my profile and carefully cut out a perfect miniature replica. Traditional silhouette artists may be a little harder to come by these days, but that doesn't mean you can't create your own updated version of the silhouette for your home.

With some paint and mod podge, you'll soon be ready to hang these in your hallway. Try one for each member of the family, or you could use different poses and expressions from one child.
