The heck with cleaning, we like our tools on display. We're not sure whether to categorize these careful arrangements by sculptor Sandra Mackintosh as antiques or artwork, but either way they serve as excellent inspiration for starting and showing off our own vintage folk object collection.
The collections are available through Mackintosh's shop, East Market Street Antiques on VandM.com, though the rare pieces are pricey. Browse her array of everyday items from yesteryear displayed and grouped as if they belong in a museum (which surely they do) and it's hard not to imagine creating similar DIY vignettes in our own space.

I like this, but you'd have to have a very specific look going to pull it off. I know in my tiny galley kitchen I don't have the space to pull this off without looking too contrived.
With so many things, the display is everything. I love these displays. My sister-in-law collects rug beaters and has them hanging above her couch in her living room. I always think they look so interesting together than they are individually.
Collections that aren't your own will probably always look contrived as you won't be passionate about the objects.
