With a keen eye and a desire to comb the internet, thrift stores and estate sales, vintage steamer trunks aren't too difficult to come by. Even though luggage has turned more modern, old pieces can be an interesting storage option.

Flickr member and Ohdeedoh reader lejeunesse shared this photo with us of her great find. She's used it to hold baby clothes (which she says helps keep her thrifting to a minimum), shoes and more. It keeps a low profile in the room and isn't as deep as most dressers can be.

When the trunk isn't needed any longer, it could be used to hold supplies for dolls, turned into an art supply chest or even a great place to hold memories. We love the idea and it just goes to show that vintage items still have a place in the home, especially this one!
