The undeniable star of this month's Covet Garden is Moira Roe, a resident of Toronto who has managed to create a 1950s suburban homemaker's dream within her urban space. We have never before seen such total dedication to the mid-century aesthetic in a modern home.

Moira's choices are not kitschy or cute, but rather seem like part of a genuine 50s design scheme. Almost everything in the space is authentic, right down to the handicrafts and Pyrex bowls. We love the retro wall colors as well, which are all part of the Preservation Palettes by Sherwin Williams.

Nomade Express Slee...
Where can I find a coverlet like that? I absolutely love it!
This woman's home is amazing. Just about knocked my socks off when I saw it in Covet Garden this month- what a great little magazine about Toronto spaces!
Nice! What a commitment to period style, very well put together. Also Covet Garden is new to me :)
Wonderful! I highly recommend checking out the whole issue at their website - the home is beautiful, and the issue themed around it it so fun!
Fun! What a lifestyle -- she's lovely!
Wowza! Wonderful home... truly impressive.
It's so beautiful! I would argue with the author of the (Covet Garden) article though, and say that it is most definitely nostalgic!
I couldn't live in this place unless it came with a naked Don Draper. However, I enjoy people who commit to their insanity without apology - and do it with style. Impressive.
That couch + naked Don Draper = heaven
R Claw: I saw one almost exactly like it on ebay the other day. Of course I can't find it now.
I am not a 50's style fan but Moira has done it exceptionally well and she is just plan cool.
Fun magazine I checked some of the other issues and some of them got a little too crafty corner for me but I would imagine it would be inspiring to the knitters, cozy cover crowd..:)
Overall I like what they are doing.
Wow, for those who like living in museums, I guess... Having been there the first time around, no thanks! (Certainly did a thorough job of it, that's for sure!)
I will never understand why so many people want to live in the past. The vintage thing is so in right now. I don't get it. That's me.
With that said she has done a lovely job. I just wish people would embrace the era they are in now... I always feel their children/grandchildren would be so confused looking back at photographs. I get a chill up my spine every time I see "vintage" themed engagement photos and weddings (I'm in the wedding industry). You have to look back at those photos when you're old and think "why did we do that?"
My grandmother and grandfather have a bedcover almost exactly like Moira's!
The color is just the same, the material too.. Only their's is just striped without the center pattern. I always thought it was from the 70s, but this post gives me shivers: could it really be over 50 years old... o_O
Retro-dream NYC apartments are sublime. I absolutely adore Moira's choices. Thank you Annie.
