But you don't have to go to those uninspiring big box stores to find what you need - why not look to the past for inspiration?
These vintage metal bouncy chairs and gliders originally designed in the 50's are the perfect dose of nostalgia for your late night porch conversations or backyard summertime parties. These are usually easy to find on Craigslist in various conditions and with the help of a few cans of spray paint, you have a revitalized piece of vintage furniture.
If you're having a hard time finding what you want on Craigslist, you can often find these in local antique shops. If you don't have the time to reburbish these vintage pieces yourself, there are also reproductions of these styles available. As you can see from the photos above, it's hard to tell the reproductions from the real thing.

Love these! We replaced our patio table/chairs with a loveseat and lounge chairs because of all the time the toddler wants to spend outdoors. I debated getting these retro-look furniture but ultimately went with something else that was more comfortable. My parents used to have a couple of old chairs--would love to know what happened to them.
